Description

Leukotape’s aggressive adhesive and high-tensile strength make it ideal for the taping technique known as “McConnell” taping, a method of correcting Runner’s knee and other knee pain syndromes by shifting the position of the patella.
Leukotape sports tape is also useful for chronic shoulder problems by applying the same techniques that help correct abnormal patella alignment.
In contrast to other types of sports tapes, Leukotape is a relatively inflexible tape, best for patellofemoral taping, which requires restricting and redirecting movements of certain muscles and to support motion in a specific direction.
The highly adhesive nature of this medical tape means that the manufacturer recommends it for use with either Cover Roll Stretch Bandage or Cover Roll Adhesive Gauze underneath.
Because of the potentially injurious nature of restricting muscle movements with rigid, non-stretch tape, it is recommended that Leukotape be used in conjunction with the advice of a licensed physiotherapist.
